- Hi, I'm Chantal and I'm co-founder and owner of DAB digital radio station 'Passion for the Planet' - the UK's only radio station dedicated to a "green and healthy" lifestyle, with an eclectic mix of adult contemporary and World Music. Have a listen at www.passionfortheplanet.com.
I'm absolutely passionate about the power of radio, about the environment and about taking responsibility for our health.
My dream was to own a radio station, but not just another radio station with the typical mix of pop music and celebrity gossip. I wanted to create something new - a radio station that would deal with health, personal development and environmental issues; that would be entertaining, informative and inspiring, balanced with great music from around the world; 'Passion for the Planet'.
'Passion for the Planet' began broadcasting on 10 September 2002, we reach 120,000 people per week. Passion offers a unique blend of music and information that can't be heard on any other radio station in the UK.
In 2004 Passion for the Planet received a Special commendation for the Best Radio Feature of Current Affairs programme at the British Environment and Media Awards and in both 2006 and 2008 Passion received a commemdation in the Green Guardian Green Business Awards. And in 2007 I was awarded a commendation in the Triodos Bank Women in Ethical Business Awards.
I've worked in radio all my life: from independent production companies to producing programmes for Virgin Radio and the BBC, and presenting with a number of commercial stations, including fronting the breakfast show for a station in Geneva. I've also launched half a dozen radio stations - in the UK, across Europe and on DAB in London.
I've been a passionate advocate for health and environmental issues for many years but frustrated by the lack of information available through mainstream media. Our aim in developing 'Passion for the Planet' is to fill this void with inspiring solutions to issues that reflect the concerns of individuals, presented in an entertaining format of interviews, combined with an eclectic mix of music.
'Passion for the Planet' is available on DAB digital radio across London and the South of England and nationwide on the Internet at www.passionfortheplanet.com. It would be great if you can join us.

Everything we do affects our world. Smile, don’t smile. Praise, criticise. Vote, stay at home. Buy fair trade, buy the cheapest. Think profit, think it through.
